PhD Candidate
I’ve always been fascinated by the ocean and the life within it, which is why I decided to pursue a degree in Marine Sciences (Universitat de Barcelona, 2017-2021) and a master’s in Biodiversity (Universitat de Barcelona, 2021-2022). During these years, I’ve worked with different seabird groups looking for their interaction with some human activities and their exposure to environmental and anthropogenic stressors, both at local and global scale. I particularly love working on spatial analysis, specially creating maps and finding creative ways to visualise data.
Current Research:
Right now I’m working on my PhD project entitled: “A Safe Operating Space for Penguins: fostering the present and future conservation of penguins and their associated marine systems”. With this project I want to provide the necessary framework and scientific knowledge to use penguins as effective «sentinels» for evaluating and monitoring the environmental health of key marine regions from the Southern Hemisphere.
