Francisco Ramírez

Senior Researcher

Current Research:

My research focuses on global change ecology and marine biodiversity conservation, with an emphasis on: (i) analyzing long-term trends in environmental and biological variables in the oceans; (ii) identifying marine areas most at risk from climate and human-induced changes; (iii) assessing wildlife responses in heavily impacted marine systems; and (iv) developing management strategies to enhance ecosystem resilience and ensure their sustainable use. My work has provided spatial assessments of climate and human impacts, as well as innovative approaches to identifying key areas for marine conservation.

Research Interests:

Animal ecology, bio-monitoring, global change ecology, marine conservation, marine spatial planning, marine risk assessments, remote sensing, spatial modelling.
