Technician
I am Francisco Izquierdo, currently working as a technician at the iMARES group (ICM-CSIC). My research interests lie in applying statistics to population ecology and conservation, with a focus on spatio-temporal species distribution modelling (SDM), particularly using Bayesian statistics, and fisheries stock assessment models. I hold a degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Alicante and an MSc in Biostatistics from the University of Valencia. Recently, I completed my PhD at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC), as part of the doctoral programme in Marine Science, Technology and Management (DOMAR) at the University of Vigo.
Current Research:
I am currently working on the FAME project, developing GLOSSA v2, an open-access and modular toolbox for marine species distribution models (SDMs). Our work involves implementing and integrating spatio-temporal modelling methods, extending SDMs to underused data types, and ensuring full reproducibility through alignment with FAIR principles.
