PhD candidate
I joined the lab during my undergrad in Environmental Biology. During these years, I’ve studied the diet of fish using different methodologies. During my master’s in Oceanography, I looked at the ecological role of chondrichthyans in the Mediterranean food web and the potential consequences of their extinction. Although my background is mainly in trophic ecology, I’m also interested in the spatial ecology of those species, which we are tagging and tracking in the northwestern Mediterranean.
Current Research:
I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Biodiversity at the Institut de Ciències del Mar and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where I study various aspects of the ecology of large pelagic fish, particularly swordfish, blue and mako sharks. My research goal is to identify the areas of the highest importance from a biological and ecological perspective for these endangered pelagic predators as a tool for advising management to recover these species.
