Technician
I hold a Master’s degree in Marine Conservation from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Barcelona and the University of South-Eastern Norway. With extensive expertise in animal ecology, I have worked on a wide range of marine and freshwater species, delving into topics such as fish sexual selection, reproductive behavior, and the effects of maritime traffic and underwater noise on marine mammals.
My skill set extends beyond fieldwork, encompassing laboratory experiments on calcifying marine organisms and the analysis of molecular biomarkers from deep-sea sediments. I also bring valuable experience in leading field teams and managing complex research projects, all focused on understanding and mitigating the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems.
Current Research:
I am a technician in the iMARES group, focusing on global change ecology and marine ecosystem modeling. I conduct systematic reviews of diet trends in marine turtles and penguins to improve understanding of their trophic ecologies and responses to environmental changes. Additionally, I work with the Trophic Ecology Facility (TEF), which coordinates and optimizes ongoing studies on Mediterranean marine species’ trophic relationships and generates open-access databases to compile historical and current research findings. These contributions enhance collaboration and accessibility in marine trophic ecology research.
